New Province(Location) Filter and Province Field for Ads
Posted by admin on Apr 7, 2008
I’ve been burning the midnight oil for the last couple of weeks working to improve the functionality and usability of Phlist.com
Now, I’m happy to announce 2 major improvements:
First. Location (Province) Filter
I’ve always wanted this feature. Unfortunately, this isn’t included as a feature in the purchased classified ads software where Phlist.com is running on. This would make browsing for ads less obtrusive as only ads that belong to the selected province are displayed.
If you’re in Cebu and looking for a Car, normally you wouldn’t want to see ads posted in Manila, or any other location.
Or, if you’re in Bohol and looking for an Apartment, you would want to browse only Housing ads that are posted for Bohol.
To change your location filter, click the “Change” link on top.

The list of provinces will be displayed. Select the province you want to browse ads.
Clicking “Show ads in all provinces” will do exactly as it says.
Second. Added Province Field for Ads
I’ve been seeing a lot of members posting ads intended for a different province, other than the Province specified during user registration.
Examples: A member from Cebu is selling a condominium located in Manila.
Someone from Cavite is posting an ad for Batangas.
So, I decided to create a separate “Province” field for the Ads table.
When posting an ad, there is an additional “Province” field. This will be set to your home province as a default. You can change this to whatever province you want your new ads to belong.
If you have ads that doesn’t belong to the right “Province” right now, please update them.
That’s all for now. ![]()
Thank you for visiting Phlist.com!

What’s New With the Zerg in Starcraft II?
Posted by admin on Mar 22, 2008
I miss those days playing Starcraft in the USC Lab. Now, there’s a sequel coming and I’m really excited for it.
I hope my desktop could handle it. If not, then it’s a great excuse to upgrade.
The Zerg in the Upcoming Starcraft II are going to get some awesome new abilities. For one all zerg units will have the ability to burrow.
First Sims 3 screens, info

Expect a new engine with a new, much more detailed Create-a-Sim feature. There are more physical and personality options for Sims, in fact, the are apparently over 700 million combinations. All of the objects in the world are going to be more customizable too. It all sounds promising, but don’t get too excited just yet…
I played both Sims 1 and 2. But from the looks of it, they don’t seem very different from Sims 2. What do you think?

Phlist.com History
Posted by admin on Mar 20, 2008
I started Phlist.com back in 2006 while I was in Japan for a business trip.
Fruits of boredom.
Unfortunately, I found out that being a Java/C developer doesn’t make me an automatic Web developer.
There were 2 versions that I coded from scratch but didn’t make the cut. Several months were spent on each version until I finally quit.
The 1st version is not too good. The 2nd version I like a lot, but figured out it would take forever to finish.
Here’s a screenshot of the 2nd prototype.
Tabula Rasa
Posted by admin on Mar 20, 2008
Finally, Phlist.com is up and running.
Borrowing the title from Lost’s pilot episode. Tabula Rasa means Blank State in Latin.
Phlist.com have to start from nothing. Hopefully by offering the best user experience to sellers and customers, we would see growth on the number of posts and visitors.
If you have any suggestion or comments, please let us know. We’ll be happy to hear from you.
Happy browsing and posting!
